Pollinator Garden
The Environmental Committee aquired several native plant species to suppliment the Fruit and Nutty 5 orchard located on 112th Street and Parnell Avenue, in a small area west of the river that runs through the Orchard. It now contains a mix of plants selected to attract a host of pollinators in the hopes of benefitting the Orchard pollination, too They are slightly different from typical flower gardens. They are planted with wildflowers and deeply-rooted native vegetation, which helps soak up more water from the ground. The garden cosists of the following species:
Yarrow (Achillea millefolium)
Giant Hyssop (Agastache scrophulariifolia)
Big Bluestem Grass (Andropogon gerardii)
Marsh or Rose Milkweed (Asclepias incarnata)
New England Aster (Aster novae-angliae)
Arrow-leaved Aster (Aster sagittifolius)
Blue Wild Indigo (Baptisia australis)
Wild Senna (Cassia hebecarpa)
Lanceleaf Coreopsis (Coreopsis lanceolata)
Purple Coneflower (Echinacea purpurea)
Sneezeweed (Heleium autumnale)

Great Blue Lobelia (Lobelia siphilitica)
